Brief History:"TWO  RUPEES" COINS:
India  introduced for the FIRST time   "TWO RUPEES
"  BIG(28 mm)  coins, replacing Rupees TWO currency notes in 1982 as a COMMEMORATIVE coin to commemorate IX ASIAN GAMES held in DELHI, India in 1982. India also came out with ordinary coins for general circulation. Thereafter there was no issue of Rupees 2/- coins till 1990, when India issued BIG coins(same as 1982 coins). In 1990, India issued these coins from
3 mints: Bombay(Mint Mark: small diamond/dot under year), Calcutta(No Mint Mark) & Hyderabad(Mint Mark: 'STAR' under the year)
