    Description

Fiat 1500 Cabriolet 118K 032487    VERY Early 1500 model. Long story short I have too many projects. This car was purchased by a friend of mine from Florida who bought the car from California a few years ago. He then decided to move to another state and let the car go so I bought it hoping to restore it but the 2 other projects I have will take me a couple years and no sense in letting this car sit if someone else can get to it before me.
These cars offer reliability, space for a suitcase and bags for the weekend getaway, gas mileage I have clocked at 37/8 miles per gallon. Quiet operation, ample room for a 6 foot person, comfortable for hours of driving and I should know I have driven my cars up and down the east coast to shows and events. Why buy a new car when you can restore a classic such as this. Honestly if i had a bigger shop I would be keeping this car.
This Cabriolet is complete, I have another grille to go with it as well as a trim piece for the hood. The motor is stuck, likely ring seizure.
The 1500 has about 85 Horse power and moves these cars along nicely. This car is a 4 speed with a 410 rear gear ratio. Front discs and rear drums stop these cars with ease. Body lines are so classic and are often compared to that other F car from Italy. The hard top is in nice condition. This is the US version of the car, it comes with a Tachometer, Red tail lights (euro had auburn) it is devoid of the side markers the euro versions have.
Car was originally white with a black interior. Questions are always welcome through EMAIL and I have a list of resources for people who need parts or advice with these cars. In the past 10 years these cars have gained nicely in value.
These cars were engineered with some impressive thinking. All floor pans have drain holes in the event water got into the cabin. Rubber joint between the transmission and the driveshaft to illuminate road noise and vibration. Brake calipers have 3 pistons each. The engine head has a heat sensitive dash light to tell you your in danger of over heating. The gas gauge has a low level light. Front and rear sway bars keep the car stable in turns. Remote power booster for the brakes. Fan clutch is electromagnetic to eliminate drag, when the water gets hot the fan engages and pulls more air. These cars are also very simple and easy to maintain with proper support. Great investment and fun to own and drive, enjoy. I threw a few pics of my other cars so you can get the feel for a finished project too.
